Indications

Atropri acts as a parasympatholytic and anti-spasmodic agent in cattle, buffaloes, horses, sheep, goats, cats and dogs. It diminishes spasm of smooth muscles, reduces bronchial and salivary secretion during anesthesia, is useful in eye exploration and as a cardiac accelerator. Effective antidote for serine, arecoline, pilocarpine, morphine and chloroform toxicity, and for intoxication produced by organophosphorus and arsenic compounds.

Dosage & Administration

Via IM, SC, IV route. Atropine sulphate 30-60 µg per kg body weight. Cattle, cows, buffaloes, horses: 2.25-3 ml per 50 kg body weight. Sheep, goats, camels: 1.15-3 ml per 50 kg body weight. Dogs & cats: 0.5-1 ml per 10-20 kg body weight. Give 1/4 of total dose intravenous (IV) and 3/4 intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneously (SC), followed by same or half dose at 4-6 hour interval.
